U.S. stocks drop more on rising European concern

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks intensified their decline as headlines out of Europe hit investor sentiment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 99.03 points to 12,725.36. The S&P 500 shed 13.74 points, or 1%, to 1,341.95. The Nasdaq Composite retreatd 36.84 points, or 1.3%, to 2,893.61.
