U.S. stock losses deepen 30 minutes ahead of close
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks fell steeply Wednesday with European concerns weighing ahead of Greek elections Sunday. "There's a huge chance that we know more about Greece next week than we did last week, but very little chance that we'll know more about Spain, which is much more of a concern for us in real terms. Spain is like California, Greece is like Tennessee," said Art Hogan, market strategist at Lazard Capital Markets LLC. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 101.64 points to 12,472.16. The S&P 500 Index dropped 11.77 points to 1,312.41. The Nasdaq Composite lost 28.41 points to 2,814.66.
