Romney names Paul Ryan as VP running mate
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Saturday named Paul Ryan, the Wisconsin Republican who is chairman of the House Budget Committee, as his vice presidential running mate. In an emailed biography, Romney said Ryan "worked tirelessly leading the effort to reign in federal spending and increas accountability to taxpayers." Ryan is a seven-term member of Congress whose selection is expected to put the issue of entitlement reform squarely in the spotlight. Romney will formally announce the choice later this morning at an event on the U.S.S. Wisconsin.
