Fantasy Earnings Trader results -- week 3

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- TRW Automotive's second-quarter earnings fell 25% but buyers could care less. Shares leaped 15.6% higher over the week despite reporting flat sales and higher costs on Tuesday.

The unlikely gainer benefited 50 portfolios this week in the Fantasy Earnings Trader, including this week's winner. UKWILDCATS1 won the third week of the competition with a gain of $17,401.72 for an overall return of 12.4%. Contestants were given $140,000 in virtual bucks to invest in a minimum of three stocks from a pool of 30 potential candidates.

Second-place winner bradrosenfield scored well with a big play on United States Steel(X) . Shares of the steel maker rallied Tuesday after beating analyst estimates. He also held smaller positions in Kyocera(KYO) and (AVP) . Bradrosenfield finished the week with a gain of $17,116.08 for an overall return of 12.2%.
