Chubb sees up to $240 mln in Q2 catastrophe losses

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Chubb Corp. said late Tuesday it estimates losses from catastrophes in the second quarter to run between $200 million and $240 million before taxes. On an after-tax basis, that translates to about 48 cents to 57 cents a share, the firm said. The losses come from 13 catastrophic events related to severe hail and wind storms in the U.S., Chubb said.
