Google CEO misses annual meeting due to illness

MOUNTAIN VIEW (MarketWatch) -- Larry Page, CEO of Google Inc., did not attend the company's annual shareholder meeting on Thursday afternoon, due to illness. Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt told attendees at the start of the meeting that Page had "lost his voice," and would also not be speaking at the company's Google I/O developers conference next week. The shareholder meeting was being held at the company's headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.
