Stocks to Watch Friday: Splunk, Zumiez, Pandora
CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Science Applications International Corp.,
Science Applications International Corp. shares (SAI) were up 8% in after-hours trading Thursday after it said its board approved splitting the company into two publicly traded companies.
Zumiez Inc. (ZUMZ) shares fell as much as 10% in after-hours trading. The specialty retailer reported weaker-than-expected second-quarter earnings and a disappointing outlook for the third quarter.
Splunk (SPLK) rose 12% in evening trading after the data-analytics company reported a surge in sales that beat Wall Street's expectations.
Pandora (P) shares rose 14% in Thursday's regular session. and could be on the move again Friday. Late Wednesday, reported that it broke even on an adjusted per-share basis for the second quarter ended July 31, as revenue jumped to $89.4 million from the prior year's $58.3 million. The Oakland, Calif., Internet radio-service provider issued a better-than-expected revenue forecast for the third quarter.
