S&P MAINTAINS HOLD OPINION ON ADSS OF NOKIA

At the Mobile World Congress trade show, Nokia introduced a new, low-end Lumia device (610) running Windows Phone 7.5 and said that current 900 handsets would be made available outside the U.S. Although it is encouraging that NOK is refreshing its low-end portfolio, in our view, it is in the high-end smartphone arena where it faces the greatest challenge. While a Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia in H2 '12 might have more success than Nokia's current phones, we think its launch is likely to be overshadowed by new devices from competitors.
