SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures ended lower Tuesday, under pressure after solid gains in recent sessions and as the dollar recouped some strength. Gold for December delivery was off $3.40, or 0.2%, to $1,612.80 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange. All other metals settled higher, however, with copper leading the way. The September contract gained 5 cents, or 1.5%, to settle at $3.44 a pound.
