Japan orders 240,000 to leave Kyushu due to storm

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- Japanese authorities over the weekend have told approximately 240,000 residents of the nation's southern island of Kyushu to evacuate their homes due to heavy rains, reports said. The weather has already claimed 20 lives amid overflowing rivers and landslides, Kyodo News reported Saturday. Most of the evacuations covered by the order invloved Fukuoka prefecture, the report said.
