Natural gas futures jump after inventories report
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures added to gains Thursday after a weekly report on supplies showed an increase within expectations. Natural gas for July delivery rose 8 cents, or 3.3%, to $2.60 per million British thermal units. Prices hovered around $2.54 per million Btus before the report. The Energy Information Administration said supplies of the product rose 62 billion cubic feet in the week ended June 15. Analysts polled by Platts had expected a rise between 63 bcf and 67 bcf.
