Hanesbrands to require all U.S. office employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
Hanesbrands Inc. (HBI) said Wednesday that it will require all U.S. office employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 15. The apparel company, which brands include Hanes and Champion, said it "tentatively" plans for most of its U.S. employees to return to offices on Oct. 18, but said it was "monitoring the situation close" and will update its plans and safety measures as needed. "Our top priority throughout the pandemic has been -- and will continue to be -- the health and safety of our associates," said Chief Executive Steve Bratspies. "We believe that vaccination is the best way for our associates to protect themselves, their families and their communities against the virus." The company said there will be a "confidential exemption process" for employees who are unable to get vaccinated because of medical or religious reasons. The stock, which was still inactive in premarket trading, has slipped 1.6% over the past three months, while the S&P 500 has gained 7.8%.
