Discover Financial Services (DFS) said Tuesday it plans to hire more than 1,000 employees for its customer care centers by the end of 2022. The credit card company said new employees will be able to choose whether they work on site, remotely or a combination of both, as long as they live in a state with a call center, which include Arizona, Delaware, Illinois, Ohio or Utah. The starting hourly wage for full-time employees is $17.25 an hour, which "may vary depending on certain criteria," and with "shift-differential" opportunities to earn up to $20.70 an hour. The open positions include customer service representatives, cardmember assistance representatives, underwriters, personal loan specialists and team leaders. The stock, which slumped 1.8% in premarket trading, has dropped 6.9% over the past three months through Monday, while the S&P 500 has lost 3.4%.
