Energy sector down over 4%, pressured by a decline in oil
The S&P 500 is on track to close the session down nearly 3.0%. The benchmark index is currently down 2.8%.Reviewing the S&P 500 sector standings shows seven sectors down at least 3.0%, with energy (-4.1%) down over 4.0%. The utilities sector (-0.9%) is the lone sector not down at least 1.0%. WTI futures settled down 3.6%, or $2.06, to $55.01/bbl, as growth concerns and an unexpected increase in inventory levels helped unravel most of yesterday's rally.
