WTI crude settles 2% higher as risk sentiment holds steady
Each of the major averages are on pace to close at least 1.0% higher. The S&P 500 is up 1.3%, the Dow is up 1.0%, and the Nasdaq is up 1.4%.Reviewing the S&P 500 sector performances shows energy (+2.3%) as today's leader, followed by decent showings in the information technology (+2.3%) and communication services (+1.5%) sectors. The utilities sector (+0.7%) is today's laggard but is still up comfortably. WTI crude futures settled $1.11, or 2.0%, higher to $56.00/bbl.
