WTI crude ekes out gain
The S&P 500 is now trading at fresh session lows with 0.7% decline. One last look at the S&P 500 sectors shows consumer staples (+1.5%) bucking the broader trend due to a 7% gain in shares of Walmart (WMT 127.29, +8.40, +7.1%). The energy (-2.5%), financials (-2.1%), industrials (-1.6%), and consumer discretionary (-1.5%) sectors are down noticeably.  WTI crude futures settled today's session higher by $0.09 (+0.2%) to $40.60/bbl.
