The S&P 500 is down 0.3% amid relative weakness in the energy (-1.9%), financials (-1.2%), and industrials (-0.8%) sectors, which are this month's leaders. Fortunately, the top-weighted information technology sector (+0.3%) is helping pick up the slack alongside the consumer discretionary (+0.2%) and consumer staples (+0.3%) sectors. Apple (AAPL 116.00, +0.82, +0.7%) and Amazon (AMZN 3179.36, +59.95, +2.0%) are largely responsible for the gains in the first two sectors and the Nasdaq (+0.1%). Treasury yields have edged lower amid the negative bias in the broad market. The 10-yr yield is down two basis points to 0.86%.
