The S&P 500 continues to track sideways with a 0.3% decline. In recent corporate news, The Wall Street Journal reported that Salesforce (CRM 250.71, -10.34, -4.0%) has been in discussions to acquire Slack Technologies (WORK 37.92, +8.12, +27.7%). Shares of Slack have climbed 28% in response and are trading near the 2019 direct-listing opening price of $38.50. Overseas, the major European indices closed mixed. Germany's DAX finished little changed, UK's FTSE lost 0.7%, and France's CAC gained 0.2%. The Europe Stoxx 600 declined 0.1%.
