Energy stocks rallying without any help from oil prices
The S&P 500 is up 0.2% and on track to close at another record high. One last look at the sector performances shows energy (+2.2%) way out in the lead with a 2% gain, followed by materials (+0.9%) and consumer discretionary (+0.7%). The health care (-0.7%), utilities (-0.3%), and real estate (-0.2%) sectors underperform in the red. WTI crude futures settled lower by 0.2%, or $0.12, to $71.97/bbl.
