UPDATE: Baker Hughes data show U.S. oil-rig count edged down for a 4th straight week
Baker Hughes (BHGE) on Friday reported that the number of active (http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=79687&p=irol-rigcountsoverview) U.S. rigs drilling for oil fell by one to 833 this week. That followed three consecutive weeks of declines, with last week's figure down by 9. The total active U.S. rig count also edged down by 1 to 1,026, according to Baker Hughes. April West Texas Intermediate crude (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/oil-edges-back-after-iea-monthly-report-but-crude-set-for-sharpest-weekly-rise-in-a-month-2019-03-15) was down 9 cents, or 0.2%, at $58.52 a barrel from Thursday's finish.
