Stocks open little changed, hold weekly gains
The major indices begin the Valentine's Day session little changed after a solid week of gains. The S&P 500 is up 0.1%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite is up 0.1%.An early look at the S&P 500 sectors shows real estate (+0.5%) and consumer discretionary (+0.3%) outperforming with modest gains. The energy (-0.4%), health care (-0.3%), and financials (-0.1%) sectors trade with modest losses. U.S. Treasuries are trading higher, pushing yields lower. The 2-yr yield is down four basis points to 1.41%, and the 10-yr yield is down four basis points to 1.58%. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.1% to 99.01. WTI crude is up 1.5% to $52.19/bbl.
