Stocks extend weekly gains at the open
The major indices start the session in positive territory to extend their weekly gains. The S&P 500 is up 2.3%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 2.3%, and the Nasdaq Composite is up 2.0%. All 11 S&P 500 sectors are trading higher in the early going. The health care (+2.5%) and industrials (+2.9%) sectors lead the advance, while the real estate (+0.4%) and energy (+0.3%) sectors lag. U.S. Treasuries are trading mixed. The 2-yr yield is up two basis points to 0.33%, while the 10-yr yield is down three basis points to 0.81%. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.9% to 100.10. WTI crude is down 3.6% to $23.61/bbl.
