Stocks trim weekly gains at open
The S&P 500 (-0.5%), Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.5%), and Nasdaq Composite (-0.5%) start today's session with modest 0.5% declines. An early look inside the S&P 500 shows nine of the 11 sectors trading lower by less than 1.0%. The energy sector (-1.6%) takes an early spill amid the 3% decline in oil prices ($32.76, -1.16, -3.4%), while the real estate sector (+0.2%) holds a small gain. U.S. Treasuries trade mixed. The 2-yr yield is up two basis points to 0.17%, while the 10-yr yield is down two basis points to 0.66%. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.4% to 99.79.
