Averages Push Higher On Vaccine Testing Reports
The S&P 500 has held its modest gains in the last half hour, spiking higher after a Reuters report suggested the US was planning a testing effort involving about six of the most promising vaccine candidates for COVID-19.S&P 500 constituents Coty (COTY 3.76, +0.43, +12.91%), American Tower (AMT 241.02, +12.86, +5.64%), and Harley-Davidson (HOG 24.65, +1.07, +4.54%) host some of the best gains today. Coty this morning announced the launch of Kylie Skin in Europe, American Tower enjoys gains behind a morning Oppenheimer upgrade, while Harley continues this week's move higher after news that the company would dial down shipments to dealers as the company attempts to simplify production in the wake of coronavirus-related shutdowns. Conversely, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE 9.22, -1.14, -11.00%) sits at the bottom of the index. This morning, Raymond James analyst Simon Leopold stepped to the sidelines on HPE following last night's Q2 miss.
