Negative start for the major indices
The major indices begin the session on a lower note. The S&P 500 is down 0.2%, the Nasdaq Composite is down 0.2%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 0.2%.Looking at the S&P 500 sectors shows relative weakness in the financials (-0.8%) and energy (-0.7%) sectors, while the utilities (+0.3%) and health care (+0.3%) sectors show relative strength after underperforming all week. U.S. Treasuries have ticked higher, pushing yields slightly lower across the curve. The 2-yr yield is down one basis point to 0.16%, and the 10-yr yield is down one basis point to 0.84%. The U.S. Dollar Index is flat at 92.29. WTI crude is down 0.2% to $41.82/bbl.
