S&P 500 trades at best levels of the day
The S&P 500 is trading at its best levels of the day with a 0.2% decline. Eight of the 11 S&P 500 sectors are trading higher, including energy (+1.5%) and utilities (+1.0%) at the top. The classic buy-the-dip mindset appears to be prevailing amid a lack of new negative catalysts. The follow-through buying since today's early lows is providing investors some confidence in buying stocks on "discount." The 10-yr yield is holding steady at 1.36%.  Looking ahead, Square (SQ 251.75, -16.33, -6.2%), Intuit (INTU 396.31, -5.21, -1.3%), and Toll Brothers (TOL 53.58, -0.17, -0.3%) are some notable companies that will report earnings after the close.
