The Dow and cyclical stocks take the early lead
The Dow Jones Industrial Average takes the opening lead with a 0.4% gain, lightly passing the S&P 500 (+0.2%) and Nasdaq Composite (+0.1%). A quick glance at the S&P 500 sectors shows materials (+1.0%), industrials (+0.6%), financials (+0.6%), and energy (+0.4%) recovering from yesterday's declines. The real estate (-0.6%), health care (-0.4%), utilities (-0.2%), and consumer staples (-0.2%) sectors, which outperformed yesterday, are trading lower in early action. In the Treasury market, the 10-yr yield is down one basis point to 1.45%, and the 2-yr yield is down one basis point to 0.14%. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.3% to 90.37. WTI crude futures are up 0.3% to $70.51/bbl.
