The stock market opens somewhat mixed
The stock market opened to somewhat mixed action. The three major indices sport modest declines, trading near their worst levels so far, due to relative weakness in the mega cap space. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) is down 0.7% versus a 0.4% loss in the S&P 500.The Russell 2000, meanwhile, trades up 0.2% and the A-D favors advancers at the NYSE. Six of the 11 S&P 500 sectors trade up while the influential consumer discretionary (-1.4%) and information technology (-0.7%) sectors show the largest declines. The energy sector (+0.4%) leads the outperformers, rising alongside oil prices ($91.81/bbl, +1.25, +1.4%).The 2-yr note yield is up five basis points to 5.09% and the 10-yr note yield is up three basis points to 4.34%.
