Many stocks pullback; oil prices remain elevated
Things are more negative in recent action. The Russell 2000 (-0.2%) slipped into the red and the A-D line turned negative at the NYSE. Decliners lead advancers by a 4-to-3 margin at the NYSE and a 3-to-2 margin at the Nasdaq.Mega caps are having a disproportionate influence on index performance, but many stocks turned lower as the market declined. The market-cap weighted S&P 500 is down 0.4% and the Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP) is down 0.3%. Elsewhere, oil prices ($91.54, +0.96, +1.1%) pulled back somewhat, but remain elevated from yesterday's settlement. On a related note, the S&P 500 energy sector (+0.1%) is the only sector showing a gain.
