Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (SIRI) announced Monday a new "Essential" streaming-only subscription plan, aimed at those who want to listen to its radio service without a car. The cost of the subscription plan, which includes more than 300 channels, will start at $1 a month for the first three months, then increase to $8 a month. Subscribers will be able to use the SiriusXM app on their smartphones and tablets, the SiriusXM.com web player or home devices including Amazon.com Inc.'s (AMZN) Alexa and Amazon Fire TV, Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) Apple TV, Roku Inc. (ROKU) and Chromecast from Alphabet Inc.'s (GOOGL) Google. Sirius's stock rose 0.7% in morning trade. It has tacked on 3.9% over the past three months, while the S&P 500 has gained 10.2%.
