Dow's tech stocks providing a 76-point boost, led by Microsoft

The technology sector is providing the biggest boost to the Dow Jones Industrial Average , as all five of the index's biggest gainers Thursday are tech-sector members. Shares of Microsoft Corp. rallied 2.3% in morning trading Thursday, International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) hiked up 2.0%, Intel Corp. (INTC) rose 1.8%, Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) climbed 1.7% and Apple Inc. (AAPL) tacked on 1.7%. The stocks' price gains were adding about a combined 76 points to the Dow, which was up 192 points, or 0.7%, with 24 of 30 components gaining ground. The tech sector was the biggest gainer among the S&P 500's 11 key sectors, as the SPDR Technology Select Sector ETF (XLK) rose 1.5%. Over the past three months, the tech ETF has gained 4.4% and the Dow has advanced 2.4%.
