General Electric (GE) said it narrowed its third-quarter loss to $9.47 billion, or $1.08 a share, from $22.81 billion, or $2.62 a share. Revenue was flat at $23.36 billion. Excluding a number of items, GE said it would have earned 15 cents a share. Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of 12 cents a share on sales of $28.9 billion. GE stuck to its outlook of mid-single-digit sales growth and said adjusted EPS for the year will range from 55 to 65 cents a share, and raised its outlook for industrial cash flows to a range of $0 to $2 billion.
