Microsoft, Coke stock rallies would add about 50 points to the Dow's price

The stocks of the Dow Jones Industrial Average's earnings reporters are among the rare bright spots in premarket trading Thursday, as Dow futures tumbled 158 points, but would be down over 200 points without those earnings reporters. Microsoft Corp.'s stock (MSFT) rose 4.0%, with the implied price gain adding about 45 points to the Dow's price, after the software behemoth reported late Wednesday fiscal second-quarter earnings (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/microsoft-rises-toward-more-records-after-azure-windows-7-refresh-produce-earnings-beat-2020-01-29) that beat expectations. Coca-Cola Co. shares (KO) climbed 1.4%, and would add about 5 points to the Dow, after a fourth-quarter profit and revenue beat (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/coca-cola-shares-rise-after-revenue-beat-2020-01-30).
