Microsoft Teams saw more than 200 million meeting participants in one day in April

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) fashioned a fiscal third-quarter performance that beat financial projections that were set before the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic. And it appears its Teams digital collaboration product, among others, has put it in a good position to repeat the feat in the current quarter, based on some numbers Chief Executive Satya Nadella shared during a conference call with analysts on Wednesday. In April, he said, the company saw more than 200 million Microsoft Teams meeting participants in a single day, generating more than 4.1 billion meeting minutes. He added that Teams now has more than 75 million daily active users -- two-thirds of whom share, collaborate, or interact with files on Teams as well. The impressive figures come as Microsoft vies for millions of people working remotely during the health crisis. The work-from-home revolution has underscored the popularity of Teams, Slack Technologies Inc. (WORK), Zoom Video Communications Inc. , and Alphabet Inc.'s (GOOGL)(GOOGL) Google Meet. Facebook Inc. (FB) is about to join the fray with Messenger Rooms. The latest numbers from Teams, which just signed a deal with Coca-Cola Co. (KO), prove that "videoconferencing alone is not enough," Jared Spataro, corporate vice president for Microsoft 365, told MarketWatch in a phone interview Thursday.
