Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) said Wednesday it is launching a new service that allows customers to build their own apps without coding experience. Amazon Web Services said it was launching Honeycode in Oregon on Wednesday with "more regions coming soon." The service allows users to build mobile and web applications like those that manage customer relationships or track inventory for up to 20 users for free, with rates kicking in for users or storage requirements that exceed that, the company said. Amazon said that Slack Technologies Inc. (WORK) and privately held image-sharing company SmugMug are already Honeycode customers.
