Peloton app comes to Roku devices, stock gains

Peloton Interactive Inc. (PTON) said Wednesday that its app is now available on Roku devices in the U.S. and Canada and will soon come to the U.K. A Peloton spokesman said in an email to MarketWatch that the Roku announcement means Peloton's app is now "on all of the major streaming TV platforms." That includes Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) Apple TV, Amazon.com. Inc.'s (AMZN) Fire TV, Alphabet Inc.'s (GOOGL)(GOOGL) Android TV, and "many" set-tip boxes from AT&T Inc. (T). Peloton has sought to capitalize on the rising interest in home fitness as the COVID-19 outbreak has kept people out of gyms. The company said in conjunction with its last earnings report that it saw "a significant increase in demand" toward the end of the March quarter and at the time the company faced an extended backlog as it sought to meet this new demand. Peloton shares have gained 115% over the past three months as the S&P 500 has risen 26%.
