Renault unit sales fell 9.4% in 2022 on supply issues

Renault SA said Tuesday that deliveries fell 9.4% in 2022, as supply constraints weighed.
The French car maker said its worldwide sales came to 1.47 million units in 2022, down from 1.62 million in the prior year.
Renault said it lost market share in Europe, reaching 6.4%, down by 0.7 percentage points against 2021, though there was a stronger performances in Latin America, Turkey and Morocco, where sales rose 8%, 23% and 11% respectively.
Worldwide, passenger-car deliveries fell 8.5%, while light-commercial-vehicle deliveries fell 12.7%, it said.
The Paris-based company said it had a better model mix in 2022, with strong growth on C-segment--which includes medium-sized passenger cars--in Europe thanks to its Arkana and Megane E-Tech electric models.
Renault added that it sold 12% more electric vehicles on year.
